February 2024

Presently, libraries can view their data in libraryConnect Devices as a table or graph, which can be exported in a range of formats and can be scheduled as a regular report emailed directly to staff.

The API (Application Programming Interface) software allows libraries to access up to 7 days of their data (for all devices and locations) directly from the libraryConnect Devices database instead of via the libraryConnect reporting tool.

▪ Enhanced Operational Features

Scheduling Flexibility:
Libraries can choose when to call the API, providing greater control over data retrieval compared to the scheduling tools in libraryConnect Devices.

Robust Data Delivery:
Receive raw data to process directly using any tool, not just Excel, especially beneficial for gate count data.

Free Access:
Any library with a valid libraryConnect Devices license can use the API free of charge, making it an accessible tool for all.

▪  API Functionality

There are three API calls available for libraries:

  1. Transactions: Covers borrow, return, renew and user login counts
  2. Gate counts: includes In and Out counts from security gates
  3. Payment: includes payment amounts and payment methods
