July 2025

Windows 11 is now available across the Bibliotheca selfCheck kiosks listed below, enhancing security, system stability, and long-term support.

▪︎ selfCheck 2500 ships with Windows 11 as standard.
▪︎ Windows 11 retrofit upgrades are available for selfCheck 3000, selfCheck 500 and selfCheck 1000.

Important Notes

▪︎ Upgrades are delivered via Bibliotheca’s standardized system image to ensure consistency and optimized performance.
▪︎ Each upgrade includes a Windows Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) sticker, required for compliance.
▪︎ We recommend combining the Windows upgrade with a quickConnect update for the latest functionality.

Windows 11 Version
Bibliotheca selfCheck kiosks operate on Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024. This version is supported through October 2034, offering long-term reliability for library operations.

Why Upgrade quickConnect at the Same Time
We recommend combining the Windows upgrade with a quickConnect update to access the latest features, including:

▪︎ Allowing library donations
▪︎ RememberMe
▪︎ New language options
▪︎ New themes
▪︎ Enhanced integrations
▪︎ Updated accessibility options
▪︎ Optimized user experience

Can I upgrade Windows on my library’s kiosks myself?
To ensure security, performance, and compliance, all Windows upgrades must be completed by Bibliotheca. Our team applies a standardized system image specific to each kiosk model.

What is Windows LTSC?
Windows LTSC (Long-Term Service Channel) is a version of Windows designed for long-term stability, offering extended support without frequent feature updates. This minimizes disruptions while ensuring security and performance over a longer period.
