February 2026
Bibliotheca is pleased to announce a new software update for the cloudCheck tablet, delivering improved customization, enhanced accessibility, and greater system stability for libraries worldwide.
This release focuses on usability improvements for patrons, expanded language support, and behind‑the‑scenes enhancements that help ensure a smooth, reliable experience.

Improved Patron Experience
- Expanded language support, including Japanese and Icelandic, helping libraries better serve diverse communities
- Clearer digital receipts, with:
- Localized email subject lines
- Dedicated renewal receipt email subjects
- New privacy and clarity options:
- Ability to obscure patron IDs on printed receipts
- Option to display due dates in localized date formats
Performance & Reliability Improvements
This update also includes multiple optimizations and fixes designed to improve system stability and responsiveness, including:
- Smoother handling of multipart item scans
- Faster and more reliable retrieval of on‑hold item information (for applicable libraries)
- More stable reconnection to the ILS when connectivity is interrupted
- Added support for EAS RFID tag security
Update Information
The software update will be delivered automatically in the background.
To ensure a successful update, libraries should confirm that their cloudCheck tablet remains powered on and connected to the internet.
Important note:
If a cloudCheck tablet has not been online since September 2025, an additional firmware update step may be required. In these cases, customers should contact their regional Bibliotheca support team for assistance.
